Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A fresh, vibrant but tight young Pinot Noir. It’s rich in wild raspberry, cherry and cola flavors, enhanced with spicy oak, and firm in acidity and tannins. Should be cellared for a good 3–5 years.

A very rich Pinot Noir, filled with delicious cherry, raspberry, cedar and spice flavors, as well as an umami bacon smokiness. Balanced with crisp acidity and very fine tannins. Beautiful now and through 2013.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
An exotic Pinot of a type usually limited to Anderson Valley. It’s marked as much by gamy, mushroom and forest floor notes as by raspberries, cherries and red currants, with notes of licorice and pepper. Drily crisp and elegantly constructed, this complex young wine should develop for 4–6 years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Northwest of the Anderson Valley, from an area that may someday be known as Mendocino Coast, comes this slightly rustic Pinot. The berry-cherry fruit has edges of tobacco, dill, tea, hay and spice, and the finish is fairly tannic.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The grapes are clones 777 and 115, and the wine shows those ultrapure, intense Dijon flavors of cherries, raspberries, cola, cinnamon and vanilla. With no new oak, the fruit really stars in this silky, delicious wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
With its rose-petaled, dark-red hue, this old-vine Carignan is not for the faint of heart, but delivers to anyone in search of the unusual, with intense tannins and rich red fruit nicely topped with impressive layers of acidity, making it a good wine choice with a range of spicy, multilayered foods. This wine’s got some serious bite, especially on the finish, and though already four years in bottle, could age another 3–5 years.
