* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Classic nose opening with the soft smell of the barnyard, earthen and loaded with herbs, sour mash, black pepper, chocolate, but also troublingly medicinal with the presence of cough syrup aromas; sweet and dense in the mouth with earthen flavors most dominant; still young and thus perhaps more crude than it will be later; slightly hot and peppery in the mouth; good concentration; the finish tends to be a bit too dry and citric at this time, and the elements of the wine are not fully integrated; I suspect that more time in the bottle will help this somewhat.
