The area of production of this wine extends over the hills of the Langhe in the Barolo wine-growing area. The fermentation with maceration on the skins lasts from 10 to 15 days, and the wine is stored in small oak barrels for around 12-15 months. After careful tasting the wine is blended and bottled. The “Sovrana” - or “sovereign” - is then matured for a further 8-10 months to bring out its very best.

Lighter than expected, but a great floral nose and terrific mid-palate. Preferred by 5 at dinner over two '90 Brunellos.
