Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Very sweet and ripe aromas, smoked meat, violets, chocolate, green spices, mint, lots of rocky soil in the nose; sweet, fresh red currants on the palate; sour cherries; high acidity in this wine that adds nice freshness; a bit undifferentiated and soft in the middle, but a well made and interesting wine in the mouth with a long finish; fresh and focused at the end with pronounced citrus acidity and powerful if somewhat softened tannins. (17/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Lovely nose, lots of sweet fruit and fresh berry aromas, earth and touch of smoke, rich and ripe aromas; clean and fresh flavors in the mouth, elegant and very much like an Hermitage; fresh acidity, clean flavors, long deep finish but with a lot of polish and elegance for a CNP. (18/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Slightly cooked nose, aromas of overripe fruit, peppery, undertones of grass and green herbs; sweet fruit right at the beginning of the palate, but it has no staying power; the fruit tastes slightly cooked and overripe; quickly goes hard and alcoholic in the mouth; either this lost its fruit or it never had enough, but the wine is out of synch now, and really does not have very much flavor at the end. (13.5/20)
