Rich and open from the start all the way through to the end. Abundantly ripe, with deep cherry fruit that sings. Really solid, with the smoothest finish you could ask for. A good one for the next several years.

Dark cherries, licorice, tar and spice. Simple but still full of pretty cherry fruit. The good mouthfeel and medium body make this a star with pizza and pasta. A nice finish, to boot.

Here’s a heavily oak-influenced Barbera with distinctive tones of spice, tobacco, wood, bramble and forest floor. There are red fruit notes in there, mostly masked by the wood. Give this wine two or three more years of bottle aging to find harmony.

Here’s a softer, modern interpretation of Barbera d’Asti Superiore with velvety oak tones that surround a bright core of berry fruit. This wine is thicker and more extracted than most with slight hints of smoke and tobacco at the back.

Apparent notes of coffee and freshly ground espresso appear at first and are followed by chocolate, cherry and raspberry. This is a modern, plump Barbera that will appeal to those who like a softer, more supple style.

This Moscato underwent natural fermentation, and boasts loads of apple skin and minerality but is a little flat on the nose. A good wine to pair with raw fruit. Imported by 5 Star Importers.

Not an intense nose, but an attractive one with floral and fruity layers. There’s chalk, peach and generous cream in the mouth, which beg for all kinds of cream or custard-based desserts. Imported by 5 Star Importers.

Smells a bit like Grandma’s sun-warmed attic, with dry, dusty scents tinged with leather. Sweet, dried fruit flavors softly fill the mouth, accented by enough spice to keep things lively. Ruggedly tannic on the finish, but there should be enough fruit in the end. Drink 2010–2020.

Tight and traditional, which doesn’t mean harsh. The nose melds raisin, leather and cedar, while on the palate you get a fine mix of plum, cherry and raspberry. A modicum of layering on the smooth finish completes the package.

Very lean in the nose, and beyond that there isn’t much to the wine. Basic orange and lemon flavors lead into a modestly sharp finish. Not sour or aggressive, but definitely sharp and less than friendly.
