With only 15 cases imported, this might be a hard find but certainly worth the trouble. A blend of 70% Sémillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc, ripe red apple flesh and pear aromas and flavors are jazzed up with sweet spice and soft buttered toast accents. Round and full but not overly heavy thanks to lifting tropical fruit-like acidity.

This limited-production Syrah (3,200 bottles produced) spends 18 months in French and American oak, providing a sweet spice and chocolate backdrop to the wine’s bright red berry aromas and flavors. Accents of foresty foliage and black pepper add additional complexity to the lush mouth. Drink now–2014.
