Grapefruit, honeysuckle and flowers on the nose are followed by full flavors of fruit and spice. A viscous mouthfeel but the wine is elegant and friendly. Lovely sip for a summer day.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A charming blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot concentrated with ripe black fruit and rustic notes of bramble, mint and dried herbs. Tart, sour cherry acidity and soft but sturdy tannins make this medium-bodied wine an elegant choice to accompany hearty duck or game dishes.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Utilizing only ambient yeasts and bottled without fining or filtration, this is a showcase of winemaker Kim Engle’s devotion to natural winemaking. Dry in style with savory apple, orange rind and a whiff of apple cider vinegar on the nose and palate, the finish is long with a pleasant orange pekoe tea note.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Orange blossom and flowers lead on this Gewürtz, and on the palate, a citric, lemon edge outweighs the sweet and floral components that would give this wine a prettier edge. Nonetheless, the wine has an attractive, crisp and clean character and will pair well with grilled seafood and poultry.

Lush and ripe with the aroma of honey-kissed apples and spice, the Tanzen Dame is a uniquely contemplative sip. Off-dry in style with super concentrated flavors of honey, orange peel and marmalade, it’s a darker, spicier expression of Finger Lakes Riesling worth exploring.

Pear, apple, citrus and flowers on the nose…a unique beginning. The wine offers soft and elegant flavors of white fruit and spice with good acidity to keep its elegant character going. A lingering, fresh finish. Pair with poultry or Asian cuisine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This wine offers tropical fruit and citrus on the nose and on the palate, a lean array of fruit, citrus and spice. The finish offers grapefruit nuances. The wine could use more depth and complexity and is a little heavy in acid, but overall, is a good everyday sip.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This wine starts with a spicy nose of black cherry, pepper, and a touch of green pepper. The palate offers lean and spicy flavors of green pepper, herbs and cherry. The wine is a touch angular, but paired with a richer dish, will balance out.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A toasty nose of vanilla with a touch of grass leads this New York Chardonnay. Rich fruit flavors with a touch of sweet oak are appealing, if somewhat simple. Chilled with a plate of oysters on a warm night, this is a fun dinner choice.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
There's good complexity here but not an abundance of ripeness. Green pepper, tobacco leaf, turnips and tomato dominate the nose, while vegetable stew with a good dose of spice take over in the mouth. The medium, earthy finish shows some lightweight tannins.
