Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This made-for-export line features sleek packaging picturing Argentinean wildlife, and in the bottle what’s coming out seems good. This white blend is ripe, with loads of apple and lemon on the nose, and lemon meringue on the palate. It’s unwooded, yet naturally spicy.

Quiet and shy on the nose, with generic white-fruit notes. For a medium-dry white, it offers requisite sweetness along with soft fruit notes, candied flavors and a green, lightly vegetal accent. A bit spritzy but not that lively or precise.

La Vuelta means “the return,” and after a glass or two of this, and with modest expectations, you may want to return to this lighter-styled Malbec. Flavorwise, we’re talking strawberry-, cherry- and raspberry-infused tea, while light but noticeable oaking yields finishing notes of mocha.

Dark and pretty, with a great attack. The nose is full and black, with all the trimmings. The mouth is lush with cassis, plum and tobacco. A very nice wine, but somewhat flat and soft on the finish. There’s more up front than on the back side.

Purple in color, with potent berry aromas. The blend is 65% in favor of Malbec, and the wine boasts black raspberry and plum flavors. Finishes hefty and warm, with notes of cola.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The style is obtuse and the wine is sweet as sin and unctuous. Aromas of canned pear and peach suggest a lot of residual sugar.

Pineapple and apple aromas are fairly attractive and fresh, as is the light, wet and zippy palate, which shows mostly citrus and apple flavors. The finish is mild and clean, and overall the wine delivers clarity and a dominant citrus profile.

If you’d like a little character, bramble and spice to your Cab, then this is where you should go. Yes, it starts out with leather, pickle barrel and a lot of bramble bush, but every time you go back to it there’s more fruit, polish, complexity and style. It’s interesting, ripe and a step up from your basic street-level Cabernet.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Starts with roasted coffee, berry liqueur and toast, while the palate is pretty dense and loaded with boysenberry and cherry. The feel is solid and juicy, with firm acids and tannins supporting a peppery finish. Saturated and staunch, but ordinary.

Mocha and chocolate welcome you in, but once you get in there isn’t much to taste. There’s generic red fruit, spice and leather, but the wine seems acidified and on the razor’s edge. Not overly generous and the mouthfeel is sheering.
