An altogether unusual wine, with a melange of fruits at its core—really, it's reminiscent of a fruit-juice punch you drank as a kid. Nose shows anise, meat and blood orange notes over a foundation of red berries; finsihes with a tangy, spritzy texture.

The nose offers interesting spice and tarragon notes. Bitter chocolate and a berry festival dominate the palate, which was surprising because the nose did not show much fruit. Great acid, fruit, tannin balance that left you thirsty for more. Best Buy. —C.S.
