This mature red’s complex, enticing nose offers wood, spices, brown leaves and hint of funky mushroom-earth. It’s not weighty, but very aromatic and flavorful. The elements above continue to play out over a solid dried fruit core on the palate. Finishes beautifully with very good length and subtle spice notes. Drink now through 2008. —M.M.
