Interesting and meaty on the nose, with plenty of pepper and herbs. This is not a garden-variety red that fits into some preconceived box; actually, it’s an unusual wine, one with a dark, ripe character and a masculine personality. It offers plenty of cooked, roasted notes and monstrous tannins. Hold until 2008.
