Too bad the vineyard owner is pulling out the Sauvignon Blanc, because this is a fresh, vibrant, juicy one, crisp in acidity and rich in citrus, figs, pears and melons. Just a touch of tart gooseberry shows up in the finish.

You’ll want to age this Pinot for a few years. It’s drily tannic and tart in acidity, which hides the polished black cherry, cola, beef jerky and spice flavors under an astringent coat. Try after 2011.

Breggo has produced a fine, ageable Pinot Noir from this highly regarded vineyard. The wine is medium-bodied and dry, with a silky texture and complex, charming flavors of black and red cherries, cola, sweet leather, Asian spices and sandalwood. Delicious now and should hold through 2013.

This is the biggest of Breggo’s 2007 Pinot Noirs. It’s very forward in black and red cherry, red currant, mocha, Asian spice and sandalwood flavors. But it’s also strong in acids and tannins that provide structural balance. Give it through 2010 to come around.

A fine young Pinot that shows the beauty of Anderson Valley as well as Breggo’s deft approach. Dry and silky, it has cherry, currant, Dr. Pepper cola, sandalwood and peppery spice flavors wrapped into firm tannins. Good now with decanting, and through 2011.

Big, bold, dry and peppery. That describes this Northern Rhône-style Syrah. It has leathery flavors of blackberries and cedar. Tough in tannins now, and not likely to develop, so decant and enjoy with grilled foods.

Here’s an off-dry wine that straddles the border of overt sweetness. It has candied flavors of pineapples, crème brûlée and vanilla cream. Crisp acidity keeps it clean and brisk.

Almost as sweet as a dessert wine, this single-vineyard Pinot Gris has sugary flavors of apricots, peaches, vanilla cream and cinnamon spice. Seems like a beach or garden wine to sip with fresh fruit and ham.

This is a strong Chardonnay. Strong in ripe fruit, in acidity and in oak. It offers massive waves of grilled pineapples, buttered toast, vanilla and tangy minerals. A bit overbearing now, but could benefit from a few years in the cellar.
