Les Dijonnais distinguishes itself by being a bit tighter, with more pungent herbaceousness, more precision, more verticality. It has extra concentration and power, but remains consistent to the house style. Those who follow biodynamic wines will enjoy the typical notes of herb, leaf and silage.

Round and loose-knit, this opens with warm, accessible flavors that include wet earth, leaf and herb. It lasts into a finish that keeps moving, adding nuances of sun- dried tomato, pie cherry and rhubarb. All in all it’s an interesting, flavorful, well-made and well-rounded Pinot.

Done in a full, round, slightly oxidative style, this 100% Dijon clone Chard is a deep yellow straw color. Strong hints of banana and other tropical fruit claim the nose. The acids are up just enough to keep it from tipping over into a world of mushy banana flavors. Along with banana are ripe apple and pear.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The fruit remains a bit subdued, the tannins tasting of green tea and black coffee. There is a strong, concentrated center, and a finish with grip and authority. This wine needs to breathe, and it will require some serious time before it will unwrap itself.

One of the real success stories of the vintage, this is a big, fruity, ripe and intensely perfumed wine that carries its plump, posh fruit flavors smoothly across the full palate. Young but seamlessly integrated, it has a juicy, substantial mouthfeel and good grip.

Organically grown and made, this is a crisp, appealing bottle with fresh, round flavors of strawberry jam, vanilla and a touch of herb. Shows some nice complexity and texture.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
It starts out dark and bold, a deep purple color reminiscent of spicy Syrah. Despite the imposing entry, the wine tastes of light strawberry fruit, clean and simple, but surprisingly thin.

Pungent and minty, with tart flavors of not-quite-ripe berries. Not a big wine, but lively with crisp, cutting acids.
