Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Really nice upfront, with spice box, cedar, cherry and watermelon fruit but turns a bit watery in the mouth. Light in style, with a dusting of fine tannins. Green pepper and wet earth flavors dominate the short-to-medium finish. Drink up.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Cherry, black currant and cinnamon lead on the nose of Brotherhood’s enticing Cabernet. On the palate, a touch of smoke mingles with red berries, spice and pepper. A clean, food-friendly style red with a lingering spicy finish.

Brotherhood Sparkling Blend - NV

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Semisweet with flavors of baked apple and honey, this blush wine is made from Catawba, a hybrid of Labrusca and other native species. In general, its character is quite sweet, but the winemakers at Brotherhood have counteracted that with good acidity. The wine has a strong character and is more in the dessert wine sphere, but the flavors are good and the finish appealing.

Light, floral aromas mingled with strawberry lead into a pretty, flavorful wine that’s sweet but not cloying. A honeyed mouthfeel and clean finish, along with the affordable pricetag, make it an attractive selection for everyday quaffing.

Brotherhood Rosé - NV

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
With its faintly floral and citric nose and dry, almost tart flavors, this Riesling may be a touch austere for fans of a fruitier style. Flavors of lemon and spice are appealing but the wine lacks some complexity.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Pineapple and spice on the nose are followed by like flavors on the palate. An interplay of acid adds quality to the wine but overall, it lacks dimension and the kind of layering that typifies good Chardonnay.

Brotherhood Chardonnay - 2004

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Subtle aromas of cherry and cinnamon spice are followed by an overly tart, acidic character on this wine from historic Brotherhood. Light and somewhat one dimensional, it does have a clean finish and its minerality will recommend it to food pairing.
