Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The cherry, leather and nut aromas are soft, steady and attractive. Bright cherry flavors with leathery undertones and a hint of coffee grace the palate. The finish is warm and spicy, with ample late-hitting power. It’s refined and confident at all points, a winner that’s on target and one that will go well with pasta and meat dishes.

The sweet nose offers a mix of cola, root beer and orange peel, while the palate is quite ripe—there’s a layer of rich black plum before a drying apple-skin finish. This seems like the type of wine to drink now as your more structured reds age. For Barbaresco, it’s actually rather soft, chunky and easy going.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Tart and herbal in the nose, the flavors don’t hold up, as sour black cherries and underripe plums take over. It’s full and big, but the heavy oak is somewhat ponderous. Overall it’s big, black and woody, but largely undistinguished.

Coparossa Barbaresco is set apart by an additional note of oak spice that, with time, will certainly evolve into shades of clove, oak, hazelnut and chocolate. In Bruno Rocca’s signature style, the wine is plush and firm with tight tannins and overall roundness that gives it dimension and staying power. Drink after 2015.

Bruno Rocca releases yet another beautiful Barbaresco. In the 2007, the wine delivers a hearty, genuine feel that is reflected in aromas of black fruit, spice, bresaola, wet earth and tar. The wine boasts a clean, fine texture with polished tannins and bright acidity. The finish is long and spice driven.

Bruno Rocca’s well- received Rabajà is extremely generous with soft tones of mature fruit, spice, vanilla, ginger and root beer. His are very well-made wines and the softness and suppleness of the texture is their most admirable quality. The finish is long and smooth and peppered with black fruit and vanilla. Drink after 2015.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Packaged with an elegant black label and Bruno Rocca’s trademark feather, this wine is unlike anything you will taste from Barbaresco. The nose is rich and inviting with tones of cured meat, black pepper, plum, anise and leather. It’s a soft, round wine, but remains elegant and restrained at the same time—and it’s a true food-friendly wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Beautiful concentration and opulent richness open the way for ensuing aromas of black cherry, leather, tobacco, blackberry and spice. Bruno Rocca is a tireless advocate of Barbaresco. His base wine is soft and plush with lingering tones of allspice, clove, smoke and ginger that ride over solid tannins. Drink after 2012.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Give this one a few years in the cellar or at least a few hours in a decanter—it needs time to come around and lose its overtly oaky outer shell. But given the requisite time, it shows itself to be amply endowed: full of cherries, smoke and tar, with a long, moderately tannic finish.
