One quarter of this wine went through malolactic, and it retains a riveting acidity. Pineapple and citrus fruit is wrapped in rock. It’s very young and tight, but along with sharp lime and citrus come fleshier stone fruit flavors and hints of melon and caramel. Give this plenty of breathing time, or decant it.

This new Walla Walla winery premieres with a toasty, soft, barrel- fermented Bordeaux blanc blend that’s 70% Sém, 30% Sauv Blanc. The fruit is ripe and packed with rich flavors, without being too fat and tropical. Its lightly herbal, grassy nuances combine with plenty of well-managed, pleasantly spicy, toasty oak.

Fermented in neutral Burgundian oak, this is crisp and stylish, and brings in tart Asian pear, jicama and white peach. Flavors are clean and razor sharp. No alterations, additions, or finings are employed—this is as noninterventionist as it gets.

Fragrant with cut grass, peavine and sweet hay, leading into light fruit flavors of apple and pear. There are suggestions of sliced orange, and the creamy, textural mouthfeel derived from nine months of aging on the lees.

From the winery’s Phinny Hill vineyard, the Columbia Rediviva is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon and 52% Syrah. Complex and satiny, it’s a riveting wine, inky and bursting with a sensuous mix of berry, cassis, mocha, loam, cinnamon and spice. Tremendous density and depth; despite its youth the wine curls around the tongue like thick smoke, showing more and more detail.

Rich, lush and creamy, this barrel fermented (in 1–4 year-old Burgundy barrels) Chardonnay has brilliant fruit flavors of apples and white peaches, shot through with butterscotch and caramel. The finish, though not exactly sweet, has a pleasing candy quality. This is distinctive and delicious, never palate-fatiguing, and beautifully balanced.

This outstanding Bordeaux blanc-style wine is consistent with recent vintages, which is to say very smooth, round, rich and toasty. Still young, it is showing a lot of pretty new oak toast, and somewhat waxy peach and fig fruit.The Semillon comprises 73% of the blend, within a percentage of the ’04, and has been crushed and then fermented and matured in neutral Burgundy barrels. The SB has been tank-fermented. Very tasty, with potential to improve still further over the next couple of years.

This is prime old-vine fruit, planted in 1972, and previously showcased in Woodward Canyon’s great Chardonnays. Ripe, buttery and round, this is perfect for those who love lush tropical fruit flavors and plenty of butterscotchy oak.

An excellent Washington Chardonnay, whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented, unfined and naturally stabilized. Minimum intervention winemaking, giving extra nuances of crisp citrus, rind, pear and blossoms. Fragrant and food friendly.
