More Burgundian than Rhone, the wine has a powerful and deep nose of intense fruit aromas layered with black and green pepper aromas with hints of tar and a subtle but beguiling presence of lilacs; sweet and ripe in the mouth, powerful flavors but at the same time reigned in to maintain balance and composure; big red cherry core to this wine; intense and focused at the end that never allows your senses to stray far from the wine. Sweet, rich and deep nose, lots of black fruit aromas, tar, chocolate, licorice, blackberries, jammy and extracted; fresh fruit in the mouth; lots of jammy fruit, blackberries and currants; sweet and earthy; good spicy finish; peppery and quite focused with nicely balanced lemon flavored flourish at the end. Sweet and very ripe nose with thick, opaque aromas, intense, pepper and earth, chocolate, leather, smoke, citrus blossoms; sweet and ripe in the mouth with very rich fruit and spices; lemon and orange flavors mix with the more powerful black fruits; hot and tannic at the finish, diminishing some of the pleasure found in the early part of the palate; still too young to evaluate what it will mature into, but the structure is in place to be great. Deep and intense nose, powerful and rich, very intense fruit aromas, hints of smoke, Russian leather, complex; exotic herbs; full and complex, intense flavors, loads of black cherry and black fruit flavors, touch of bitter herbs, leather; lemon and other citrus fruit; spicy and complex; clear presence of tannins but balanced and soft, pure; very focused flavors; this is a terrific wine and is always a top contender in my book for the Northern Rhône. Hefty leathery aromas initiate the experience, followed by aromas of black cherries steeped in alcohol, with hints of smoke and licorice in the distance; deep and sweet in the mouth, rich, ripe, thick textures; good central core of citric acidity save the wine from clumsiness, and there is a subdued elegance in the wine that is a mark of its greatness; not yet ready to drink, the wine has not yet shed its initial thin citrus fruit shell; this would be fun to try about five years from now.
