Lime, mineral and grass make up the pungent, pulsating bouquet. Apricots and peaches comprise the stone-fruit-dominated palate, which is touched up by a pinch of honey. There’s a nice tang and snap to the finish, which offers a little white pepper just to make things interesting.

This “Savvy” boasts textbook aromas of passion fruit, gooseberries, green peas and even a touch of mint. Supple and almost soft on the palate, it doesn’t quite have the zing you expect but still manages to satisfy.

Intriguing aromas of florists’ greenery (ferns), mint, green apple and pears whet the palate. The flavors are more subtle, ranging from Anjou to Chinese pears. Tart, lime-like flavors appear on the long finish.

This is a gentle, soft style of Pinot made for immediate consumption. Ripe cherries and dried spices take the lead, with just a slight herbal tang for complexity and a touch of crisp acidity on the finish.

What an interesting wine, so un-California. Plenty of grass, gooseberry, straw and smoke complexed with stone and mineral. Young and tight, with bright acidity and intense fruit. A good value.

Melon and tropical fruit aromas and flavors appear early and linger delicately through the clean crsip finish. Despite overtones of buttered toast and vanilla, the fruit stays on top, focused and fresh. The oak is in check, so it should prove versatile in food pairings.

Honey, melon, pineapple, apricot and vanilla are all prominent players on the nose of this offering. The fruit was obviously picked very ripe; add to that a caramel-vanilla suggestion of sweetness from American oak and the overall impression is almost of a dessert wine, without the sugar.

This is an interesting wine that ultimately turns out a bit muddled and unclear. Toasty oak, chocolate and caramel on the nose and dark, plummy fruit on the palate are promising, but the finish turns sappy and greenish, with hints of roasted nuts.

This light- to medium-bodied Sauvignon Blanc appears to aim at a minerally style, marrying hints of green (veggies?) with otherwise pleasant citrusy aromas and flavors. Grapefruit and anise make an appearance on the finish. Drink up.

Smells of pineapple and grapefruit at first, laced with plenty of herbal nuances. But the flavors are solid, citrusy at the core, and garnished by riper melon notes. Racy throughout, finishing with zippy acids.
