A truly fantastic syrah - the classic smokiness that you would expect, but incredible jamminess as well. Intense flavors of raspberry and blackberry. Yum!

The 2006 Rubaiyat was simply outstanding. If you have a bottle of this, drink it now. Paired this up with BBQ and it was perfect. According to the winery, it's a blend consisting of 83% pino noir which is probably why I liked it so much. Big fruit taste and wonderful finish. They suggest serving it slightly chilled, but we had it at room temp and it was just fine. I can't wait to have another bottle.

Named after the bears that were often spotted where these grapes are grown, another elegant Cakebread Cabernet more full than the Vine Hill, deep dark fruits, blackberry, currant, cocoa and big tannins with a long finish.

It blows my mind that they are able to consistently make such a large quantity of such an excellent wine year after year. The 2007 Chardonnay is mouthwateringly good with delicate flavors of vanilla, butterscotch balanced by green apple, pear and a medium acidity that makes it crisp and refreshing.
