This 50-50 blend of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional is aged in new oak; only 7,500 bottles are produced. Buttercream frosting, cassis and a hint of chlorine characterize the bouquet; very sturdy blackberry, plus oak and more cream, round out the palate. Sturdy tannins and a slight metallic note close the medium-length finish.

Dark fruit and a creamy, toasty nose in the international style mark this medium-weight wine. The palate is quite dry, showing black plum and berry flavors wrapped in an oaky cocoon. Smoothly textured, it’s tasty despite the overly prominent oak. Two years may balance the fruit and wood. Best after 2003.
