Immediate aromas of toasted oak and freshly shaved wood characterize this modern and densely extracted Brunello. The natural fruit aromas have a hard time getting through that thick layer of oak but the wine does tastes plush and soft on the finish.

Cherry and vinous notes of grapes and wild berries flood the nose, opening slowly to subtle aromas of spice, smoke and mineral. The wine is dense and chewy in consistency with a youthful and bright personality.

Concentrated and ripe with cherry cola and freshly minced mint on the nose. Ripe, red and meaty in the mouth with lush tannins and maple syrup consistency. Easy to drink. Imported by Wine Wave.

Soy sauce is a major component of the aged, mature nose, while in the mouth you’re looking at black cherry, leather and vanilla, all with a slight citrusy kick. Short and somewhat tomato-based on the finish, with a tart, crisp feel.

Green tobacco, bubble gum and a pungent whiff of vinegar-based salad dressing form a nose that never really draws you in. In the mouth, cherry and plum flavors are of medium intensity. Reasonably fresh and forward, however, but still short on charm.

A super Tuscan that’s not, dare we say, super. The nose is fine but the palate is overly acidic and heavily slanted toward tart. Has the color and nose going for it, however the palate is discordantly sharp. Not pleasant on the tongue.

This wine is good but not altogether convincing. It has a raw, nervous edge with aromas of root beer, tealeaf, cherry cola and a brambly-wild berry flavor in the mouth. The texture is sharp, compact and tight and the wine leaves lingering freshness on the close.

Smoky and masculine, with initial aromas of black cherry and coffee. Talk about perfect balance; this has it. The cherry and berry flavors glide on a wave of crisp acids and modest tannins. And while not velvety, the mouthfeel is lush. Worth more than a look.

A deep garnet color and rich concentration characterize this austere Brunello di Montalcino. The nose is redolent of wild berries, cassis, currants, leather, dried tobacco and forest floor. In the mouth, the wine is smooth, silky and polished.
