A sharp, just this side of volatile Sauvignon Blanc, this is already showing some tawny tones though it’s only a 2008. Perhaps the clear glass bottle is the culprit, but the wine is pretty far down the aging curve. Grassy and herbal, with a quick, sharp finish.

Though relatively lightweight, this pleasant Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking well, with cherry and plum, chocolate and a little caramel. The tannins have some grip and persistence.

A soft, round, simple, rustic red, this has fading black cherry fruit and chewy, toasty tannins. Drink up.

Soft, dark and roundly fruity, this easy going red would be a fine companion to spaghetti, pizza, burgers or almost any comfort food. Mostly Merlot, with Cabernet, Syrah and Cab Franc filling in the rest, it has enough stuffing, tannin and barrel toast to stand up to a cold autumn evening.

A barrel selection, this reserve has a strong vanilla streak that unfortunately turns the fruit into a cough-syrup set of flavors. Artificial cherry candy, tobacco and vanilla resolve into rough, astringent tannins.
