This Brunello shows very nice balance with sweet aromas of cherry, bright fruit, almond paste and Christmas spice. The wine plays the elegance card well with a mouthfeel that is tight and buoyant without being chewy or heavy.

Shows lovely, complex aromas of plum and cedar, accented with hints of brown sugar, chocolate and spice. It’s medium in weight, developing flavors of fresh herbs and cherry on the palate before ending with lingering notes of cherry and soft, gentle tannins. Imported by Vineyard Brands.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Features rubbery red fruit and a lot of spunk. This is rosso in its freshest, most fruity form. Yet it’s properly balanced by zesty acidity and noticeable but moderate tannins. With a lot of raspberry and strawberry in the mouth and a lifted, deep finish, you can’t go wrong with this red and a plate of pasta and sauce.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This fresh Rosso di Montalcino offers tonic aromas of berry fruit, Christmas spice and sweet cinnamon that give the wine a festive and cheerful personality. There are loads of fresh berry flavors and the wine would pair beautifully with meatloaf or porkchops.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Vermentino from southern Tuscany achieves a special richness and density that is well suited to the variety. This expression is smooth and creamy with some acidity on the close and lingering flavors of peach and honey.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Floral and round, and eminently approachable at this early stage. The bouquet is rosy and sweet, while the palate is easygoing and fresh. Yet once you think its aging potential might be short, the finish drives on for a long distance, tossing up coffee and earth notes. Drinkable now, but can last for at least a decade.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This special selezione Brunello delivers big ripe fruit flavors—almost too ripe—of blueberry, strawberry and red currants. The wine has power and heft with more flavors of spice, leather, tobacco and gritty tannins.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Caparzo’s lush and full 75-25 blend of Chardonnay and Traminer is faithfully representative of a white wine from Tuscany. You’ll get aromas of peach and passion fruits backed by warm tones of vanilla and mature melon.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Made in the Sant’Antimo area of Tuscany, this 50-50 blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet offers intense layers of cherry, spice and chocolate fudge. There are subtle tones of leather and tobacco in the background and the wine is chewy and soft in the mouth.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Soft, supple and persistent, this gorgeous Riserva Brunello offers intensity and genuine territorial characteristics. Aromas include cherry cola, spice and loads of balsam notes such as eucalyptus and menthol. It’s tight and determined in the mouth and this impression is reinforced by fresh acidity and silky tannins.
