Earthy aromas are accompanied by driftwood and endive. These repeat on the palate, accompanied by cinnamon, dried meat and dried herbs. The finish has eucalyptus up front and a sweet, fruity bloom at the back end. Lovely wine, but without appropriate heft. —K.F.

Although a bit vegetal, there are worthwhile notes of plum, cherry and caramel. The palate is lightweight, with salad greens, tomato and basil flavors. Finishes peppery. —K.F.
