There’s a very beautiful floral element to this Inzolia from Sicily that helps it stand apart in a crowd. You’ll get fragrant tones of jasmine and honeysuckle followed by peach and pineapple. The mouthfeel is creamy and rich.

Yellow flower and natural rubber come forward first and are followed by peach, apricot, pear and delicate mineral nuances. There’s a creamy, warm quality to the mouthfeel, but this bright Inzolia ends clean and fresh.

This is a creamy and layered wine (made with the Grecanico variety) that offers pretty aromas of banana nut, exotic fruit, chestnut honey and mature notes of melon and stone fruit. The wine is naturally rich with generous flavors and good length.

Here’s a well-integrated and well-priced Nero d’Avola that shows harmony and balance. The aromas recall spice, cherry, maple syrup and toasted nut and the wine also offers herbal or leafy notes with soft tannins on the close.

Sachia is a pure expression of the Perricone grape variety that shares some similarities to modern Cabernet or Syrah. This is a meaty, full-bodied red with lingering tones of black pepper, sage leaf, smoke and toasted nut lavished over a solid core of cherry fruit. The wine offers thick tannins and firm structure suitable for beef dishes.

Perricone is a little- known native variety found in southern Italy that delivers ripe fruit aromas of blackberry, currants and some distant notes of smoked bacon or bresaola. The wine is luscious, succulent and slightly sweet on the close.

This Riserva Syrah exhibits aged aromas of spice, old leather and dried pipe tobacco. Tertiary aromas (the tones that develop as the wine ages) are already showing, so you’d better drink up now. The finale is marked by loads of succulent black currant and plum.

Here is a very likeable and well-priced blend of Nero d’Avola, Cabernet and Syrah with tones of black olive, Sicilian caper, blackberry, molasses and root beer. The wine’s lively color is bright and vibrant and so is the impression it leaves in the mouth.
