See-through in color, with leafy, earthy aromas that turn more oaky with time. Almost citric in flavor, with tart, lean raspberry and strawberry flavors. Clean but missing potency; juicy nearly to the point of sour.

Light and leathery, with dried fruit notes and not much else on the lithe bouquet. Quite traditional in style, with dilute but clean cherry and cranberry flavors. A dose of wood spice pops up on the lightweight finish. Drink now. Imported by Five Star Imports.

Almost orange in color but fairly lively on the nose, where cherry, vanilla, leather and licorice come together. Firm and acidic at its center, with surrounding tobacco, cherry and citrus flavors. Shows some toast and root beer on the finish. Very solid stuff from a good vintage. Imported by Five Star Imports.

Coffee and grilled beef provide a masculine, dark side to the bouquet. Behind it, there’s nice berry and plum fruit lifted by ripe, firm tannins. Then it finishes fairly soft, with strawberry, chocolate and vanilla notes. Very nice overall. Imported by Five Star Imports.

Chunky and soft on the nose, with maderized papaya aromas. The palate is acidic, with racy, sharp apple and citrus flavors. Edgy on the finish, and struggles all the way to achieve balance.

Bramble, mint, herbs and spice accent raspberry and rhubarb aromas. The palate is angular and snappy, with dried leaf, berry, baked plum and peppery flavors. A little raspy, with an acceptable but noticeable burnt/roasted character.

Gold in color with nondescript aromas of wheat and apple. Turns to tart on the palate, with lemon and green-apple flavors. Adequate at best.
