Wines from the windswept vineyards of Colares, where vines are planted almost in the sand, are rare. This Malvasia is fascinating, a wine that has perfumes, a touch of spice and kumquat as well as smoky acidity. Much more than a curiosity.

Very soft, perfumed with bright red cherry fruits, this is a lively rosé, light and bright, lilting on the mouth, finishing with mineral acidity. Screw cap.

Lemon grass, lime and intensely crisp acidity identify the wine as definitely from the cool north of Portugal. A strong apple-skin texture dominates, leaving a wine that really needs shellfish type foods.
