Another Cahors from the stable of Alain-Dominque Perrin, this one is the entry-level wine, made to be more accessible than his flagship wine from Château Lagrezette or the luxury cuvée. There’s still plenty of toasty oak, but also some raspberry-cherry fruit and green tobacco on the finish.

Earthy, with foresty aromas and plenty of plum-like fruit. The palate is round and forward, with plum and cherry. A tight finish shows off the patented tannins of Cahors, but overall it’s largely a balanced wine that gives a proper taste of the region at a decent price.
