Berardo Riserva is an amazing achievement with elegant beauty and perfumed aromas of blue flowers, forest fruit and spice. Great structure and a naturally smooth consistency help support the tight tannins.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Castello di Bossi makes some of the best Chianti Classico you will find and this base expression shows the beauty and potential of Tuscany in slightly less austere terms. It’s a smooth, round wine with loads of cherry, blackberry, spice, chocolate and leather.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Sophisticated and intense, this is an extraordinary wine that performs beautifully both in terms of nose and mouth. The aromas are broad and all-encompassing, including blackberry, red currant, vanilla and pretty shadings of exotic spice. The mouthfeel is lively and generous and lasts a very long time.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A suave Sangiovese-Cabernet Sauvignon blend with dark, minty, cola aromas that mix with serious red-fruit notes to create a character-packed bouquet. The palate is as ripe and aggressive as you want, but with good balance. Throughout the oak is present but integrated. Can hold through 2010 without much effort.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Corbaia is Sangiovese and Cab Sauvignon from the southern part of Chianti Classico where temperatures are a bit warmer and the soils a bit thicker. As a result, the wine has added structure and power but it also has pretty buoyancy, elegance and lingering aromas of balsam notes, herbs, black pepper and almond.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Dusty and moderately rich, with aromas of blackberry and a distant note of green bean. The mouthfeel is entirely on the mark, while the flavor profile consists of oak, plum, currant and chocolate. Finishes tight and warm, with some bulk. A good food wine due to its correct balance.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A varietal Merlot that is dark, masculine and pure, even if it stumbles toward raisiny and syrupy. What keeps it in motion is the brightness of the palate, where cherry, plum and chocolate dance in harmony. Probably best to drink soon, which will maximize vibrancy.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
No bargain here, but it is a an excellent wine, made evident by the spicy, minty nose that’s packed with attractive nutty nuances, coffee and earth. Ripe and full, with fine structure, this Chianti is fresh, seductive and round. The cherry and leather flavors are on the money, and the tannins are right there.

Girolamo is a Merlot from the southern part of Chianti Classico that does a remarkable job of being modern and delicate at the same time. On the one hand, you get rich notes of chocolate, cherry and coffee, but on the other, you get ethereal nuances of blueberry, spice and cola. Ready to drink.
