Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This bright Chianti Classico is enormously plush, velvety and soft in the mouth. Aromas include cherry, blackberry, exotic spice, almond paste and blue flowers and the wine offers dark color and thick concentration.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Thanks to careful Sangiovese clone selection and expert winemaking, this is a generous, full wine with layered aromas of berry, bramble, red cherry and blue flower. Smooth and silky, the fresh berry flavors on the finish leave a lasting impression.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The great depth of dark cherry fruit in this suave, seamless wine is somewhat obscured now by the menthol-toast oak notes. But even now the supple mouthfeel is seductive, the blackberry and herb flavors compelling, as are the espresso and licorice notes on the smooth, lengthy finish. Fine fruit and structure will prevail in this keeper. Cellar for two to four years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The Mazzei family, along with consultant Carlo Ferrini have produced another classic. It is immediately arresting, with aromas of dark chocolate, herbs and new wood. On the palate, it is big, ripe, serious, with black cherry fruits and new wood flavors, combined with acidity and dry tannins.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Deep, lush and enchanting for what amounts to a basic Chianti Classico. The nose offers licorice, black plum, wild berry and clove. The palate is equally nice, with cherry, plum and oozing berry all rolled into one. Fine texture; good tannic grip; good balance; just what the doctor ordered. From Mazzei.
