Blueberry and vanilla sum up this wine nicely; despite its beautiful packaging and brilliant ruby color, it doesn’t offer much more. That said, it is an enjoyable and easy wine with enough palate-cleaning acidity to boost its appeal as a companion to most hearty foods.

This Vin Santo from Italy’s northern Trentino region is made with the little-known Nosiola grape and offers outstanding complexity and intensity of aromas. Almond skin, apricot, dried fruit, caramel, butterscotch and honey come forward layer after layer. This is a distinctive wine with round, opulent nuances and excellent length.

A brilliant amber vin santo from the northern Trentino region with 10 years of age (six in oak) that flaunts toasted biscuits, rich nutty notes and chestnut honey. Nosiola grapes are dried on mats, or settimana santa, from which the wine gets its name.

An easy wine that will go down nicely with spicy appetizers. Its color is a paler shade of straw and the aromas focus on citrus, lime and stone fruit. The residual sugar is high, making for sweet peach flavors in the mouth.
