Heavily stewed and raisiny, almost to the point of no return. And while the wine is definitely cooked and starchy, it rallies on the palate and finish to show some decent Priorat-style richness and flavor. But let’s face it, the wine is 80% baked and won’t last for much longer.

Our bet is that a granular, reduced, raisiny wine like this will not have broad appeal. Yet if you are interested in trying a blend of Samsó, Garnacha and Syrah it has some core qualities, namely old-school raisin and plum flavors backed by core tannins. A country-style wine if there ever was one.

Lemony and light on the bouquet. The palate is aggressive, almondy tasting and tight, with lemony lead flavors, peach notes and a lasting but not unpleasant bitterness. Nicely balanced, with good mouthfeel. A very nice wine and a different breed within the wide world of Spanish white wines.

Dry, almondy and mature, with oxidized aromas and a bold gold color. This is full-force white Garnacha with a lot of heft and body. It’s arguably more bitter and sweet than outright fruity, with honey and white pepper accents. Finishes extra spicy, with heat. Rich and heady stuff to drink now.
