Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Wonderful nose of ripe black fruits, cassis, smoke, earth with a touch of minerals, sweet; sweet and soft in the front of the mouth, but surprisingly flat and almost dilute in the mouth; there is quite a bit of fruit with ample ripeness, but the wine approached the palate with a shovel, and there is no finesse here; one can’t fault the wine as a pleasant table wine, but it is missing the elements of a top property. (14/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Light nose but sweet and smooth, sweet with herbs and spices, dense black cherry aromas, a bit thick; smooth and silky in the mouth, but not with a lot of character; one taster thought that it tasted manufactured; very earthy; lots of dry tannins at the core, but this wine is missing some key components. (15.5/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Soft and sweet nose, herbal scents, smoky with a strong metallic undertone, rich and sweet with a touch of mushrooms and truffles; sweet and dense with very ripe fruit flavors; lots of black fruit in the mouth mixing with exotic herbs, pepper, and earth and truffle flavors; layered and deep, but at the same time quite elegant; long finish lots of spices and pepper, good integrated tannins; rich and velvety at the end. (19/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Very sweet and ripe nose, very “old vine” with soft rich earthen aromas shadowed by a faded sweetness, exotic and perfumed, chocolate, sour mash; sweet and spicy in the mouth, very ripe fruit, silky and exotic flavors; some drying out of course, but still well composed and deep; layers of flavor and a long finish; a wine built to last.
