Sweet and laced with butterscotch, quite dense, touch of herbs, sweet spices; sweet and spicy in the mouth with spices and quite peppery; quite heavy in the mouth with loads of sweetness; there is a touch of citrus acidity, but could use more to freshen the body; somewhat bitter at the finish. Opens with a somewhat distant nose of sweet fruit and herbs, but then gains strength in the glass and develops a powerful nose of caramel, pepper, butterscotch, minerals, and a touch of smoke, and the nose just keeps growing the longer the wine sits in the glass; sweet and ripe in the mouth, elegant and refined and loaded with flavors of bitter almonds and sweet lemons; the finish is really refined and elegant with flavors of bitter lemon peel and grapefruit served up in a rich broth of sweetness. Very smooth and ripe nose with creamy sweet aromas that show lemon peel, key limes, and ripe sweet fruit aromas; light and fresh in the mouth, creamy, lots of lemon peel flavors, there is a layer of sweetness underneath the acidity that provides a nice balance; quite citric and lemony at the end with a fresh if quite light texture. Intense spicy and peppery nose, deep, sweet aromas of caramel and chocolate, spicy and peppery with a sweet layer of fruit; very spicy and peppery in the mouth and quite aggressive for a d’Yquem; rich sweet fruit with a slightly baked quality; long and assertive in the mouth with powerful flavors. Sweet and rich nose with loads of honey, sweet dried fruits, herbs; sweet and rich in the mouth, layers of sweet fruit, very good core acidity that brings elegance and focus to the wine; long finish, layers of sweet dried fruit and spices; this vintage is always a treat, and although not among the best d’Yquems, it is a sensuous and rich wine.
