Quite sweet and ripe nose, fresh and clean, black fruit and pepper, quite a bit of chocolate and caramel, very aromatic and perfumed; not as good in the mouth as I would have thought; the wine opens with a lot of sweet fruit in the very front of the mouth, but then there is an onslaught of big, chewy dry tannins that shock the palate a bit; the wine regains some balance with a return of fruit, blueberries and blackberries, nice acidity for freshness; long flavorful finish, but a lean wine in the main. A wine with a very deep and rich nose, layers of chocolate and cassis, roasted coffee beans, very perfumed with nuances of iodine and tree bark; sweet and ripe in the mouth with lots of fruit flavors at the front, then more citric and acidic in the middle mouth; smooth, but still has lots of coarse tannins in the texture of the wine; grainy at the end, but powerful with lots of lemony acidity to end; this seems to me to need more time to adjust some of its internal elements.
