* Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
A wine from a vintage that is turning out better than most of the early comments suggested; the wine opens with a deep, sweet and rich nose with powerful tobacco, earth, smoke, tea leaf, and very ripe fruit aromas, dark fruit and black spices; sweet and soft in the mouth, not a sophisticated wine, but loaded with ripe fruit, a but simple and hollow in the middle, smooth, but with dry tannins at the edges and a slightly rough and earthy wooden flavor in the back of the mouth; medium finish, this is a nice dinner wine with big food, and perhaps one of the best price-to-value wines on the market.
