The 2000 vintage is being lauded as one of the greats in Bordeaux, and wines like this are partly responsible. Sure it’s possible to spend into the triple digits for a classified growth that won’t be ready to drink for 15 years, but it’s also possible to find steals like this—a soft, succulent blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that has enough backbone to age gracefully for up to 10 years. Cassis, tobacco and chocolate flavors combine seamlessly like nowhere else in the world.
