87-89 Barrel sample. With its lovely fresh fruit, gentle tannins, spice and acidity, this is an easy, open, gentle wine. The fruit is ripe and floral.

88-90 Spicy, smoky character, with ripe fruit and good acidity. Black plums, and very rich. There is a touch of pepper from the alcohol.

87-89 Barrel sample. Sweet blackcurrant, and a gentle tannins. The structure is obviously dense, but the richness hides it to give a velvet wine.
