Deep and rich aromas, powerful nose with dominant tar and licorice, leather, black earth, herbs, cassis and kirsch, hint of mint that I don’t remember from previous tastings; big and spicy in the mouth, this wine has lots of body; plenty of sweet fruit; big earthy tannins with a hint of truffles; more aggressive on the finish than I remember; this wine had definitely added weight in the last year or so. Sweet and soft nose with lots of mocha, coffee, smoke and earth aromas, deep and layered, enticing nose; powerful and intense on the palate, but with a seductive softness; this wine has really softened in the last two years; lots of licorice, black cherry flavors; fat and ripe with concentrated fruit flavors that fluctuate from cranberries, raspberries to black cherries; very expressive finish, long and smooth, almost silky now but still with a solid tannic backbone; this has evolved nicely. Soft, rich, sweet nose, the predominant aroma at this early stage is chocolate with some earth tones and hints of ripe fruit in the background; big and sweet in the mouth, still very young so somewhat dumb, ripe flavors, chocolate, cassis, hints of herbs and spices; good acidity shows up a bit later with clean lemon flavors; big tannic core underneath; this wine is not ready, but presents a real coherent picture and should evolve well for the next few years; probably needs a minimum of five years to knit properly.
