Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Nice and buttery for a Mâcon with full and inviting apple aromas. The luscious mouthfeel leads into a proportioned and pleasing lemony palate. Good structure, fairly full-bodied and shows some touches of butterscotch. Oak is in good balance. A fine food wine and a clear expression of Chardonnay.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is the top cuvée from Pouilly-Fuissé’s most famous estate. It is a big, round wine, its curves opulent and generous. There are yellow fruits, particularly apricots, and the wine is given some sinew by its acidity and by the light spice aftertaste.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
One of the Vincent family’s single-vineyard wines from its Château de Fuissé estate. It comes from chalky soil, and this shows in the initial tight minerality that then follows through with balanced pear and peach flavors, finally rounding into elegance. Imported by Frederick Wildman & Sons, Ltd. Editors’ Choice.

New wood overwhelms the aromas, and it also dominates the palate of this wine. It just keeps on the right side of drinkability because the spice merges into pear flavors to give an intriguing nutmeg character, while the aftertaste offers freshness. The wine needs at least a year to blend together.

Well structured wine with plenty of ripe fruit. The freshness of fruit is replaced by spice and peach flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Better known for its whites from the Maconnais, Vincent has crafted a successful wine from the difficult 2001 vintage. Sappy, briary and herbal notes impart complexity to the ripe cherry flavors. Long finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Warm, rich, with a southern Chardonnay ripeness, this shows high toast, but also ripe tropical fruit. The acidity is light, with a creamy texture, and added spice and richness. It’s a harmonious style that needs 3–4 years.
