The 70 acre vineyard of Michel d’Espagnet was painted by Paul Cézanne. This blend of Syrah, with Grenache and Cinsault is crisp, but full-bodied, true pink grapefruit and with a touch of smooth vanilla. The acidity bursts in the mouth at the end.

Sweet and musky smelling, which in its own way is appealing. The palate is a mix of grapefruit, melon and other citrus, and lively acids keep it kicking while your tongue does a double take. Good, but a bit too tangy and jumpy.

Tart, fresh and a bit chunky and rustic, this blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache and 20% Cinsaut features bold lime notes, scouring acidity and hints of crushed stone. Drink now.

A tight, minerally rosé, Pourcieux’s 2007 would go well with chicken or fish dishes. It’s very fresh in character, with hints of berries on the long, citrusy finish.
