This has an intriguing bouquet that smoothly marries slightly herbal-spicy Syrah with ripe, plummy Grenache (the blend is 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre). Plum and spice flavors are reasonably rich on the palate, ending with supple tannins. A promising early release that shows the fine quality of the 2005 vintage.
