Expert NoteAugust 10, 2010
An unusually rare bottle at this age, still a real wine nose, sweet and ripe, lots of black fruits, admittedly mature now and beginning to show a touch of overripeness, but there is chocolate, coal tar, earth, and cherry aromas for a surprisingly complex and deep nose; sweet and ripe in the mouth, lots of black cherry flavors; touch of red currant and dry red fruit flavors, but more sweetness than not; good acidity still adds freshness to the flavors; solid finish; not a complex wine or particularly involved, good finish.

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Light lemony nose, but very pleasant and fruity, light aromas and not particularly focused, although pleasant; a bit thin and citric in the mouth; plenty of lemons, some spices and herbs, but seems a bit superficial; has a nice sweetness on the palate, and nice textures at the end, but just not particularly compelling. (16.5/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Focused, ripe nose, lemon peel, earth, minerals, and sweet honeyed fruit aromas; quite dry and austere in the mouth, surprisingly devoid of sweetness and fruit; almost bone dry; lemon peel and dry acidity; narrowly focused and quite tight at the end. (16/20)

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
Nice nose of sweet lemon drops, touch of honey, butterscotch, smoke; smooth and sweet on the palate, but also quite citric; at the same time, quite rich and opulent in its own way, big citrus core, nice fruit with a medium finish but a rather simple wine. (16/20)
