90-92 Barrel sample. A very smoky character, with an attractive lightness. The fruit is bright, even though there is richness. The tannins give a dark, dry aftertaste.

When they are not traveling, this is home to Michel and Dany Rolland. The sense of structure gives this wine its sophistication. Along with the structure are layers of black fruit, cocoa, new wood and a solid core of richness.

88-90 Barrel sample. Perfumed, light, hinting at minerality, the wine has a smooth veneer over the dusty tannins. The final effect is rich and polished.

91-93 Barrel sample. Very dense, a beautiful wine, dark in character, built on solid fruit, structured with sweet tannins. You can sense the acidity, even if you can't taste it.
