This is pure fruit, blackberry, dark cherries and plums. The tannins give a huge burst of dryness to the wine, but at this young stage, the juicy fruit and wood are dominant.

Very juicy wine, with tannins that gives shape to solid, chunky fruits. It is the ripe fruit and acidity that drive the bitter chocolate and smoky flavors. For medium-term aging.

Sweet fruits dominate this wine. It still has all the right black tannins and berry fruits, but it also has great ripeness, the wine spiced with vanilla and all-spice. It finishes with mouthfilling juiciness.

With a few years’ age, this is showing some excellent textures, velvet but still structured, the tannins integrated into the herbal, minty flavors, which go well with the maturing black fruits. Keep for 2 more years, but also drink now.

From old vines, this wine is certainly concentrated and powerful. But with an edge of bitterness, there is also the sense that the wine is too extracted, too intent on showing up its darkness, its dense structure and its impressive tannins.

An intensely perfumed wine, combining power and smooth elegance. The wood gives the perfume initially, but the fruit is not far behind, a ripe layer of sweet jelly flavors, bolstered by tannin. The aftertaste is fresh, bright, but still intense.

A big beefy version of Malbec, with chewy fruits, solid dry tannins. It is a firm wine, packed with black currants and cranberry juice, spiced up with nutmeg, vanilla and tense tannins.

Some roughness initially, but then the tannins show that they are supporting great fruit. The freshness of the red fruits are obvious, but behind this are flavors of herbs, dark berries, interlayered with dryness.

For lovers of dense, firmly tannic and rich Malbec, this is pure pleasure indeed. It is a powerful wine, packed with dark, brooding fruits, leavened by a hint of mint and smoky acidity. The wine shows power, but doesn’t get carried away. Age for 4–5 years.

Almost black in color, this is a solid, very chunky wine. Its black berry and bitter chocolate flavors push through an immense tannic structure, powered by a tough, stalky texture. It is very firm, edging on austere.
