91-93 Barrel sample. A immensely smooth, polished wine. The complement to this are the acidity, great fruit, making a modern, sophisticated wine.

A wine that initially seems smothered in wood. Only slowly do the blackberry fruits and fresh acidity come through, and even then the toast, and a green edge, are dominant. Maybe a year’s extra aging will help.

A serious, complex wine, its tannins and full fruit still young and headstrong. There is power here, spice wood adding to the black cherry fruit and complex acidity. For aging.

Smoky wood dominates this wine, giving it a rich layer of softness. However, the fruit is all there, rich, packed with sweet tannins, showing a big, solid core of ripeness. Modern in style, with its rounded corners, this should develop over the next 2–3 years.
