A serious wine, which still offers rich, powerful fruits. The aromas are of herbs and red fruits, the tannins are dense, with berry flavors, and the final effect is of great pure fruit.

88—90 Barrel sample. Somewhat lean, more of solid tannin than fruit. But there is also some fresh acidity.

89-91 Barrel sample. A big wine, with intense dark tannins and great concentration. This is a wine of power, somewhat rough around the edges. To finish, great juiciness.

An immediately attractive wine that carries its ripe fruit easily. Both the fruit and the structure are dense, with flavors of dried raisins balanced by fresh acidity. It is already maturing, so drink in 2 years.

88-90 Barrel sample. A wine in tension. The fruit is tight, for a Pomerol surprisingly taut. It comes with a waft of blackberry fruits which add freshness.

88-90 Densely tannic, with a dry edge, while allowing the rich berry fruits to come through. Tannins promise good aging.
