A Merlot-dominated Saint-Emilion, this is a big, but balanced wine. New wood is present, but this doesn’t diminish the ripe blackberry and cherry fruits. It is firm, dry and tannic at this stage, with a hint of coffee, but the aftertaste is fresh, with red currant flavors and acidity.

90-92 Barrel sample. Spicy, ripe and concentrated, this works well as a forward, fruity wine. The fruit balances easily with a measure of wood.

This is a New World-style of Bordeaux, all polished edges, and sweet, ripe fruit. There is structure and dry tannins, but these are well integrated into the smooth black cherry and dried fig flavors that are given extra interest by a herbal edge. The aftertaste is fresh, keeping acidity.

Jammy and ripe, from gravel soils in the valley plain of Saint-Emilion, this is already a very drinkable wine. It has intense, concentrated red and black berry fruits surrounding a core of seriously dry tannins from fruit and wood. Solid but rich, this is developing well.
