Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Densely tannic, a dry core overlaid by delicious, jammy flavors. Black and Damson plums, alongside roast coffee, go with acidity that pushes through at the end. Certainly for aging.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A densely tannic wine, with a dry core that dominates the fresh berry fruits. It’s a wine that needs time, with acidity and juicy black currant flavors still jostling for space with the tannins. Its future is one of elegance as well as ripeness.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A modern wine, dominated by new wood, but which keeps both ripe fruit and toasty wood flavors well in balance. Mint aromas are an attractive opening for this smoothly structured wine, which has good juicy plum flavors as well as a continual layer of tannin.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Plenty of dark Malbec tannins here, giving a tight, mineral wine with a core of dryness. Around the core are black plum and fig fruits, and an edge of the crispest black currants. Firmly extracted, with fine wood toast flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A wine that is in such good balance that no one element stands out. They are all melded into a rich wine, dry, but with delicious juiciness as well as acidity. The flavors show the quality of the black fruits, but also how the tannins are a fine support, along with spice from the wood. Age for 4–5 years.
