Perfumed and sweet nose, herbal and with lots of black peppercorn aromas, green herbs, pine tar and grasses; layered flavors in the mouth, dominated with smoky cassis and red cherry flavors; rich and almost unctuous on the palate, but at the same time sharply focused; this is always an underrated wine, and is quite full and well-defined with lots of fruit and acidity, mixed with chunky tannins; not elegant or a blockbuster, but certainly well-made and pleasant at this stage of its life.
